Brad Delp (June 12, 1951 – March 9, 2007) was an American singer, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Boston. He was known for his impressive vocal range, especially his high notes, and his melodic singing style.
Delp also played guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. Before Boston achieved mainstream success, he worked at a car parts plant to support himself.
Beyond his work with Boston, Delp was involved in other musical projects. He formed the band RTZ with former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau in the late 1980s. He also performed in a Beatles tribute band called Beatlejuice.
Sadly, Brad Delp died by suicide on March 9, 2007, at his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire. His death was ruled a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. The circumstances surrounding his death, including a contentious lawsuit involving Boston bandmate Tom%20Scholz, were widely publicized. He is remembered for his vocal talent and contribution to rock music.
